 SUMMARY:

Last night, in an attempt to reach a mutual agreement to protect our members, the WTEA Negotiating Team offered the Board of Education several proposals.  Rest assured that all the concerns that were expressed to us were addressed.  The Board refused all of the proposals presented.  The superintendent stated that no guarantees would be given regarding the saving of jobs.

Once again, Gerry told the Board and the Superintendent that the WTEA members would do all that they could to help pass the budget.   Gerry told them that the WTEA PR Committee sent flyers to the membership and that the Special Elections Committee has mailed a letter to all NJEA members living in Washington Township asking them to vote yes for the budget.   The PR Committee members are following up by making personal phone calls to all NJEA/WTEA members reminding them to vote yes.  They are also working with the PTOs to get the budget passed.

The next Negotiations Meeting is scheduled for May 19.
